The Premier's Active Families Challenge

The Premier's Active Families Challenge, is a new 'Go for your life' initiative that aims to improve the levels of physical activity as well as the overall health and wellbeing of families.

Families can complete the Challenge by doing at least 30 minutes of physical activity a day for 30 days between 9 March and 20 April 2008.

As a registered participant you'll receive 15 free family passes at your local YMCA and a 10% discount at Rebel Sport stores, and a chance to win some fantastic prizes. Every primary school nominated by a student who completes the Challenge will go in the draw to win one of eight $3,000 sports packs available.

The Premier's Sustainability Awards recognise innovation and reward outstanding achievement in the sustainable use of our natural resources for the benefit of all Victorians, now and for the future.

In January 2007 former Premier Steve Bracks challenged all Victorian students in Prep to Year 9 to read a certain number of books by August 31. In that year more than 200,000 students registered to participate in the Challenge – and more than 110,000 met it.

 Premier's Spirit of ANZAC Prize
Each year ten recipients of the Premier's Spirit of ANZAC Prize are elected to participate in an overseas study tour to sites of significant ampaigns involving Australian troops.
